Why These Trafford GL 11 Plus Mock Exams Are Different
These mocks are designed specifically around the Trafford GL entrance-test structure rather than being generic reasoning papers with the Trafford name added.
| Trafford-specific feature | What this means for your child |
|---|---|
| Trafford GL research | The mocks were designed around the GL entrance-test structure used by the five Trafford Grammar Schools Consortium schools for 2027 entry. |
| Two-paper structure | Each mock contains two separate papers combining verbal, non-verbal and mathematical questions. |
| Verbal preparation | Children practise vocabulary, comprehension and different types of verbal reasoning questions. |
| Non-Verbal and Spatial Reasoning | Children practise identifying relationships, patterns, sequences and spatial information. |
| Mathematics preparation | Children practise mathematical knowledge and problem solving across a range of question types. |
| Mixed subject papers | Children gain experience switching between different skills within the same test paper rather than completing one subject at a time. |
| Exam-style answer sheets | Separate answer sheets help children practise recording multiple-choice answers carefully under test conditions. |
| Parent invigilation guidance | Instructions explain how to administer the papers at home without helping once a timed section has begun. |
| Complete mock experience | Completing both full papers helps children build the concentration, stamina and adaptability required by the Trafford GL test. |
| Detailed review | Answers and explanations help identify weaker question types, accuracy issues, timing difficulties and exam-technique problems. |
