Customer Comments

"Thanks for your help in deciding what to do. The mock papers were useful and we did as you instructed and did one every weekend for a month. My daughter really improved her technique as a result. One of the skills you just don't realise kids will need is the ability to read quickly and accurately. The test includes two comprehension passages."

Mr Tan

"There weren't really any published papers for Sutton so we were pleased to find these. The papers were of the right standard of difficulty and helped us to understand what the test would actually be like. It's a tough test and requires lots of stamina."

How to Run the Sutton Stage 1 11 Plus Mock at Home

Before the mock

  • Print the Mathematics and English papers and separate answer sheets.
  • Choose a quiet environment without interruptions.
  • Read the supplied parent invigilation instructions before starting.

During the mock

  • Administer the Mathematics and English papers separately.
  • Follow the supplied timings and instructions for each paper.

  • Make sure answers are recorded carefully on the separate answer sheets.
  • Avoid helping with individual questions once a paper has begun.

After the mock

  • Mark both papers using the detailed answers and explanations provided.
  • Identify why marks were lost — for example, knowledge gaps, accuracy, timing or exam technique.
  • Compare performance across Maths and the different English sections rather than focusing only on the overall score.
  • Look for patterns such as spelling errors, comprehension difficulties, weak comparison questions or Maths questions taking too long.
  • Work on the most important weaker areas before attempting another Mock Pack.
  • Use the next fresh mock to see whether performance has improved under timed conditions.

"My daughter's preparation for her 11 Plus exam couldn't have gone better. The advice we received about being committed ourselves was exactly right. We set a time to do the work and broadly managed to achieve it. The course was very intensive so we did need to work hard, but it was worth it in the end. Without this course I'm not sure I would have known where to start or what to do when"

"We used a Private Tutor to prepare for the 11 Plus, and they recommended that we use the full 40 part vocabulary course as part of the process rather than vocabulary books. We really can't see how it's possible to boost a child's vocabulary without this sort of work, it had everything- real learning activities, tests, revision, pieces of texts from classic books and even vocabulary puzzles which stretched our son no end."

- Mr Gull
