Why These West Midlands 11 Plus Mock Exams Are Different
These mocks are designed specifically around the West Midlands Grammar Schools Entrance Test, rather than being generic 11 Plus papers with the West Midlands name added.
| West Midlands-specific feature | What this means for your child |
|---|---|
| Current West Midlands research | The mocks are reviewed against reliable information about the current West Midlands Grammar Schools Entrance Test. |
| Two-paper structure | Each mock is divided into two full test papers to familiarise children with the overall structure of the entrance test. |
| Four subject areas | Both papers give practice across English, Verbal Reasoning, Maths and Non-Verbal/Spatial Reasoning. |
| Individually timed sections | Children practise moving between shorter timed sections rather than completing one uninterrupted paper at their own pace. |
| Example and practice questions | The mock structure helps children become familiar with receiving instructions and completing examples before beginning timed questions. |
| Multiple-choice answer sheets | Separate answer sheets help children practise transferring and recording their answers accurately under timed conditions. |
| Parent invigilation guidance | Instructions explain how to administer the mock and how the timings should be called. |
| Complete mock experience | Completing both papers helps children build the concentration and stamina needed for a full entrance-test session. |
| Detailed review | Answers and explanations help identify weaknesses in knowledge, accuracy, timing and exam technique. |
