Customer Comments

"We needed some materials to help sharpen skills and keep us going and these mock papers fitted the bill perfectly. They helped us to focus on the timing of the exam and doing them at home as 'real' mocks helped our son to get his head around the looming exam. "

Mr Mahroof

"We couldn't find a mock exam centre in Lincolnshire so these papers proved to be the ideal alternative solution. They are divided into sections so are much closer to the real thing than other papers and that was really useful to see and experience. "

Why These Lincolnshire 11 Plus Mock Exams Are Different

These mocks are designed specifically around the Lincolnshire Grammar Schools 11 Plus test, rather than being generic reasoning papers with the Lincolnshire name added.

Lincolnshire-specific feature What this means for your child
Current Lincolnshire research The mocks are reviewed against reliable information about the current Lincolnshire test structure and question formats.
Two-paper structure Each mock contains separate Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers.
Verbal Reasoning preparation Children practise a range of verbal reasoning skills within a full timed paper.
Non-Verbal Reasoning preparation Children practise a range of visual and non-verbal reasoning question types within separately timed sections.
Timed subtests The Non-Verbal Reasoning paper helps children become accustomed to moving between sections where time is controlled separately.
Exam-style answer sheets Separate multiple-choice answer sheets help children practise recording answers accurately under test conditions.
Parent invigilation guidance Instructions explain how to administer both papers and their individual sections at home.
Complete mock experience Completing both papers helps children build the concentration, accuracy and familiarity required by the Lincolnshire test.
Detailed review Answers and explanations help identify weaker reasoning types, accuracy issues, timing difficulties and exam-technique problems.

How to Run the Lincolnshire 11 Plus Mock at Home

Before the mock

  • Print the Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers and separate answer sheets.
  • Choose a quiet environment without interruptions.
  • Read the supplied parent invigilation instructions before starting.

During the mock

  • Follow the timings and instructions supplied with each paper.
  • Administer the Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers separately.
  • Follow the individual timings for the Non-Verbal Reasoning subtests carefully.
  • Make sure answers are recorded accurately on the separate answer sheets.
  • Avoid helping with individual questions once a paper or timed section has begun.

After the mock

  • Mark both papers using the detailed answers and explanations provided.
  • Identify why marks were lost — for example, misunderstanding a reasoning type, accuracy, timing or exam technique.
  • Compare Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning performance rather than focusing only on the overall score.
  • Look for particular question types or timed sections that consistently cause difficulty.
  • Work on the most important weaker areas before attempting another Mock Pack.
  • Use the next fresh mock to see whether performance has improved under timed conditions.

"My daughter's preparation for her 11 Plus exam couldn't have gone better. The advice we received about being committed ourselves was exactly right. We set a time to do the work and broadly managed to achieve it. The course was very intensive so we did need to work hard, but it was worth it in the end. Without this course I'm not sure I would have known where to start or what to do when"

"We used a Private Tutor to prepare for the 11 Plus, and they recommended that we use the full 40 part vocabulary course as part of the process rather than vocabulary books. We really can't see how it's possible to boost a child's vocabulary without this sort of work, it had everything- real learning activities, tests, revision, pieces of texts from classic books and even vocabulary puzzles which stretched our son no end."

- Mr Gull
