About The Folkestone School for Girls

The Folkestone School for Girls are committed to excelling in all that they do and expect girls to share and exhibit those same high standards for themselves. They aim for and achieve outstanding academic results but are equally concerned to foster creativity, to encourage courtesy and sensitivity towards others and to develop self-discipline, self-motivation and self-confidence. Their academic curriculum, therefore, is only a part of what they do. They also encourage all the girls to explore other interests and to take part in the wider life of the school through their many co-curricular opportunities – be that debating society, music, dance, drama, sports, Young Enterprise, Duke of Edinburgh award…..the list goes on.

The Folkestone School for Girls Courses

With high entry standards to The Folkestone School for Girls, your child will need plenty of preparation in order to get in. Parents can choose to use tutors/tuition centres or books/structured courses. The benefits of a structured course are that it is tailored to the area you are applying for and parents can focus on helping their child rather than worrying about which books to buy when and what order to do the work in.

Our courses are used by parents and by private tutors who choose to use them instead of books to help their children.

Children can get into The Folkestone School for Girls by meeting the required standard in either the Kent Test (a GL style multiple-choice assessment testing verbal reasoning, spatial reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths and English with an extended writing task) or the Shepway Test (a CEM style computer assessment testing verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and maths). We have outlined our recommended preparation for each test below.
